Pelvic Health Warning Signs!


As women our bodies go through so many changes throughout the different stages of life. From puberty, pregnancy, the post partum period to menopause our bodies have gone through structural, hormonal and physical change. As we travel through these stages it can leave us exposed and vulnerable to different health concerns. No matter what stage you’re going through, its important to familiarise yourself with the warning signs.

Education is key!


Pregnancy:

  • Debilitating pain with everyday activities (low back/pelvic)

  • Incontinence (even if its a little)

  • Doming of your abdomen/belly with activities.

  • Chronic Constipation

Post Natal:

  • Rectus diastasis (abdominal separation)

  • Incontinence

  • Sudden urge to urinate without any warning

  • Continuing of pelvic/low back pain with returning to exercise

  • Sensation of heaviness or pulling in your pelvis.

  • Tissue protruding from your vagina

  • Urinary problems (retention or sudden unexpected urges)

  • Painful sexual intercourse.

  • Difficulty having or passing a bowel motion on a regular basis

Pre/Post Menopause:

  • Inability to completely empty the bladder or the bowel when going to the toilet.

  • Straining to get urine flow started, or to empty the bowel.

  • Slow flow of urine that tends to stop and start

  • Bulge or swelling felt in the vagina (often feels like you’re sitting on a ball)

  • Low back ache

  • Vaginal Dryness

  • Sudden ‘twang’ felt in pelvic region.

  • Incontinence
